"Curupira" was a production that emerged from a collaborative process within the Theater Direction discipline at the Performing Arts course of the University of Brasília. The project involved individuals both within and outside the university, with diverse backgrounds and ethnic origins. The dramaturgy was shaped by the experiences of people from Black, White, Mundukuru, Pataxó, and Krahô ethnicities.
The process began with an exploration of Brazilian stories and cultures, delving particularly into the cultures of indigenous Brazilian peoples with the guidance of the participants. This included extensive research using various bibliographical sources and interviews with non-actors. The incorporation of scenographic technologies, such as mapped projection, emerged as a necessity in the play. This served not only to portray ancestral technologies in a dreamlike manner but also to engage with the artistic production of new generations.
